To many he is known as Playboi Carti, to his family he is known as Jordan Carter, to die hard fans he is known as Cash Carti, but to me he is known as the best artist to ever walk this earth. To preface, I enjoy many other artists such as Kanye West and Frank Ocean, but not one of the two puts innovation in sound, beat selection and live energy to a very high level as Carti does. Playboi Carti has also a great catalogue of leaks and snippets, that alone could beat some of your favourite artists discography such as The Weeknd or Drake. In this paper, I will explain my reasoning in my title as I will provide evidence as why Carti is the best musical artist ever in terms of his innovation, music quality, and live performances.
First of all, Carti since he started recording his third studio album “Whole Lotta Red” has been at his most creative and experimental. Whole Lotta Red could be divided by many into three versions. The first version is closest to his “Die Lit sound”, with songs such as Molly, Neon, and Buffy. His second version of Whole Lotta Red is where he gets most experimental, and in my opinion is where the music gets to its highest point quality-wise. With snippets such as “I Got It”, and songs such as “@Meh”, “Teen X”, and “Say My Name” with Guap Tarantino, these four songs alone are better than Lil Uzi Vert’s whole discography. His innovation with the baby voice has brought new-age underground artists to the spotlight such as Ken Car$son and SoFaygo, with artists such as Lancey Foux following him around like Playboi Carti is their father. With shitty rip-offs such as Mario Judah and 645AR stealing Carti’s whole style, it would be retarded of you to not say Carti is not the most influential in the game right now. With most of his career still ahead of him, who knows how much more of the game Carti will change is his bright future.
Second of all, Playboi Carti’s music catalogue is second to none, whether it be released or unreleased. From carrying Uzi on songs such as “Shoota”, “Break the Bank”, “Cartier”, “Wokeuplikethis”, “SRT”, and “Cartier”, Uzi should owe Carti millions of dollars as repayment of how much Carti has carried him these past few years. This is just comparing Carti’s performance to Uzi on their collaborations. Carti is a giant when standing next to his competition, as no one else’s catalogue comes close. Self Titled is a 9/10, Die Lit is a 8/10, Whole Lotta Red is a 8/10, and some of his leaks are better than some of the best released songs from your favourite artists. Leaks such as “Shawty in Luv” and “Whole Lotta Red” with Smooky Margielaa and Maddmax are better than released songs from Juice WRLD. Kanye’s best album “Jesus Is King” and Frank’s best album “Blonde” doesn’t come close to the magnitude of quality held in Carti’s self titled album. I am personally offended at how much slander Carti gets at either his “baby voice” or “gay vampire aesthetic”. Enough of your bitching, Carti is the greatest artist and that is final.
Third and not least, Carti’s live energy matches no one. His tours from his album tours or Neon tour are crazy, and the mosh pits and the experience along with it are life-changing. Some could pull the counter argument with Travis or Kanye live energy is crazier, with examples such as the Rodeo tour or the Pablo tour. But with this then comes Carti’s Rolling Loud 2017 performance.
In conclusion, no one can touch Carti’s level of dominance in music right now and his imminent future, and Carti’s “Whole Lotta Red” is the modern day “808s and Heartbreaks”. In the next few years, there will be more and more copycats and clones of Carti and his baby voice, just like how people such as Drake and Juice WRLD followed the sound of 808s. I do not get how Carti gets any slander, as he is a genius when it comes to this shit. Stop slandering the King, and just realize his greatness in the music industry. |
